WAHAHAHAH..i know it has ONLY been 11days since the day i stopped taking meat and fish. BUT   i feel so good about it. seriously now i do not have any cravings at all for my favourite duck rice,KFC, Macdonald and some of my all time fav SUSHI(swordfish, tuna etc) . in fact, now i am happy with just eating veg, prawns, clams and cuttlefish.oh well, baby steps.. hopefully some day i can stop taking seafood totally. it will be an achievement for me. lol. and i appreciate some of my friends who accommodate my change of diet by not eating meat as well when dining with me. really “gan dong” (meaning i am touched).haha

anyway i found more articles about turning vegetarian. hope it benefits you (those who been reading my blog) 🙂

in particularly, i found this veg starter guide prepared by the international vegetarian union. i think they put up a really useful guide. i print screen parts of the guide that impact me the most.

This guide also includes information about what happen to the livestock and fishes (how they are breed and slaughter) that we have been consuming day in and out. didn’t wanna post it here because i know not everyone wants to know the ugly truth of these animals’ living conditions.

then i found this paragraph written by a singaporean. hope it makes u think twice before u thought of eating shark fins again.

Yes. it was yet another brunch date with the ladies. 🙂 this time round we made a trip all the way to MBS just to try out the food at Au Chocolat. AS usual, the place is nicely done up, makes me feel like i am in “Alice’s Wonderland”.

Image

it is located at a corner where u will first sight their shop that sells au chocolate ‘s souvenirs, cupcakes and chocolates, then when u walk further in that is where the restaurant is.

Image

Image

the restaurant is not a very big place but it was not very crowded when we were there on a weekday. which is good, cause we can take our time to eat and gossip as long as we want.Image

Baby lynette ordered the fish and chip.and  i loveeeee the fries.

Image

then baby shirley and me shared the french toast and the egg benny. The french toast was pretty good, tasted a little crunchy and sweet. we both thought it seems more like a dessert than a main for us.

Image

there is nothing fanciful about the egg benny. i had better ones.so it was okay.

Image

why so happy ar??!! haha

i was @ Nassim hill for brunch last weekend. it is a bakery bistro in the day located at tanglin post office. They served awesome breakfast i must say. i enjoyed the food so much. 🙂

Image

apparently (according to their website), they serves a different dinner menu at night with guest DJs and they have a bar that serves an array of alcoholic beverages.

Image

Image

i really enjoyed the food. the bread is soft and warm, the orange juice is VERY fresh.

and the egg benedict is so good … 🙂

the rest of the pictures are taken using his camera while we had our dessert @ blackbird. some of the pics are left unedited, while some i only changed the contrast level. because the colors of the pictures are already damn nice. we had fun shooting each other. 🙂

i was at Antoinette with baby shirley weeks ago.we went to the outlet at mandarin gallery.Basically the place is kind of empty on a weekday afternoon, which is good for us!! ( don’t really like to have food in a rush and places that are too crowded.)

Image

i ordered the Antoinette ‘s breakfast with onions and mushrooms!! love the eggs and toast!! the prices are kind of reasonable but i don’t understand why we jus have to pay $3 extra if we choose to have scrambled eggs or poached eggs.

Image

i love how the place is done up with flowers like as if we are dining in a real garden.

we had “charlotte” for desserts. 🙂

I was invited to zenn’s new cafe opening two weeks back. The cafe is conveniently located at Bussorah street ( near to Arab Street), it is within walking distance from Bugis MRT. i must admit that the place is nicely done up with eclectic furniture, and it is filled with interesting eye candy deco that makes the cafe feels so whimsical and vintage. The clever incorporation of the pipelines as part of their cafe ‘s interior design, just add on to the quirkiness feel of the whole place!

Image

They have a really wide range of drinks selection to choose from, ranging from specialty coffee and teas, to craft beers and ciders. Personally, i love their fizzes( their own created drinks),refreshing and cooling, it is nice for a hot weather. 🙂

Image

isn’t this cute?

zenn & jeannie.

Image

They do serve cakes and sandwiches if u are looking for something to eat and they also provide people the option to order food from the restaurants ( Italian, Japanese & middle eastern) nearby and allow them to consume within the cafe.

i think this is a pretty cool idea. have u ever faced the situation where u wanted to have japanese food and your friends would like to have western cuisine? now, at this cafe, u can eat TOGETHER with your friends and yet have the option to order different varieties of food to your own liking! And on top of it, the place has got nice ambiance and the deco is cool!

US. the batchies. 🙂 nice catching up ! we should do more.

Do pay them a visit if you like trying out new cafes in town!

YES! i was in hong kong again last week. hehe. i think i put on some weight during the trip cause i have been eating and eating! omg. because everything in hong kong is just so tasty! 🙂 everyday i can jus eat the wanton noodles and never get sick of it. ( wanton noodles is just so bloody good in hkg) but anyhow, this post is not about wanton noodles.

it is about my first time watching how liquid nitrogen ice cream is made and also the first time eating it! Erm.. i don’t think there is any liquid nitrogen ice cream selling in singapore right?not that i know of or is it because i am “sua ku”??? wahaha.

My friend brought me to the one at brown st ( near causeway bay). The place is called Lab made or Liquid Nitrogen Ice cream ( their print poster put LabMade but the signage put Liquid Nitrogen Ice cream).

Image

the place was crowded with curious people watching how the ice cream is made.cause the staff will only prepare the ice cream after the customer placed their order. SO YES THEY MAKE THE ICE CREAM INSTANTLY! The process of making is to turn liquid custard into putty-textured frozen ice cream within seconds! this is possible because of the addition of liquid nitrogen!

Image

Image

i love the area where the ice cream shop is located. Quiet, peaceful and there are a few nice cafes and concept shops around. if you have the time to spare in hong kong, can take a walk at school st and brown st. there are some interesting stuff to see ( but come with a pricey price tag! haha).

Image

Image

Image

i had the Japanese Matcha. Erm, it tasted really just like any other normal ice cream! wahaha.. and it melts really fast! so i guess what really attracts people to eat the ice-cream  was probably just due to their unique way of making the ice cream. Like something new to people to be able to watch the process of making the ice cream instantly.

The place is really small, not much seats around so we got to stand while eating! other than that, we have got no complaint about the whole experience. 🙂

Image

Like i said, there are a few nice shops around.this particular one called Volume one is somewhat different from the rest.  i really like how the owners did to the interior of the place and one of them is really friendly and kind enough to explain how they come about having the concept and start up the place.

Image

the first moment when we entered the shop, we thought it was a cafe , because the first thing we saw were cakes, bread etc. but as we walked further into the shop, we saw….

Image

clothes! accessories! Furnitures! and i swear the stuff in there are not cheap. Mostly are imported from places like UK, Europe. i saw this ring that i really like, it cost like almost $1000. wtf. gave up the idea of owning it. haha. now i am just trying to save up for my 2-3 weeks trip to japan next year. hopefully i am able to go! hehe

Image

cool yeah? ( Pardon the bad quality of the pictures. all taken using my iPhone)

that’s all! Have a great weekend everyone!
