sorry that the last post on the family trip to hkg took so long to be up!! LOL. i have been busy with assignments, bday celebrations and of course FLYING. hehe

haha… since we are staying in the same area where the famous wanton noodles place i always frequent last time, i just have to buy and let them try. even though now i don’t take meat anymore and obviously i can’t enjoy the tasty wanton anymore, i just have to let them taste how good it is…. cannot find any wanton noodles in singapore as good as this !!!

after doing much research on how to get to the victoria peak ourselves,it is pretty troublesome for such a big group to get there ourselves. i know i just have to book a private tour and it turned out pretty good! we have a spacious mini bus to ourselves, and basically we can go anywhere we want within the time frame.

Image

we took a one way peak tram up to the top, highly recommended!! the ride was pretty interesting and i think it is worth trying it out if u are in hong kong.

can u see how steep the slope is???? quite scary!!!

Image

ah.. finally! we reached the peak!

after 2 nights in the disneyland hotel, we were finally out of there and make our way to kowloon area.

ImageImage

we stayed at sheraton hotel, the rooms were huge and with the harbor view. it was great. ( of course the rooms aren’t cheap!)

Image

Image

we had this half day city tour provided by the tour agency, which i was quite surprised that they were able to cover a few places(victoria peak, aberdeen, boat ride, visit some temple and had lunch!!) within the span of 4hrs.amazing.

well! for dinner, i decided to bring them to lamma island for seafood. we found out that rainbow restaurant provides free ferry shuttle to and fro lamma island and the hotel staff was kind enough to help us with the booking and stuff, we just have to walk to the ferry terminal and enjoy the ride. it took almost 40mins ferry ride to reach the island, i must say the food was really good. it is up to u to decide if it is worth 40mins travel time to have a good seafood meal.( the price is not v cheap. we paid almost 400 sgd for 9 of us but of course if it is to compare to the seafood prices in singapore, it is consider much cheaper there based on the kind of food we ordered) personally, i don’t mind traveling there to have a good meal. 🙂

IT IS RARE but YES! finally i chose to do some sightseeing in hong kong rather than shopping. C brought me to stanley market during my last visit to hong kong. we did not take the easy way out by taking a cab there. instead, we took a bus (no.6) from causeway bay to stanley market, the ride is about 30mins? i have NEVER taken a bus in hkg before , it is always the MTR or the taxi whenever i need to travel around in hkg. so, taking the mini bus to the market is something new for me. 🙂

if u get car sickness easily, might just have to think twice about going there, cause the route to the market has to go through quite a few turns , and it makes me feel kind of giddy.

Image

According to C, stanley market is a “touristy” area, so the things that are selling there is slightly pricier i guess.but there are some interesting small shops that sells nice souvenirs.

the reason why i love the place is because it is right beside the sea!!!  it is just so nice to stroll along the seaside in the evening and end the night with a nice seafood dinner and some wine.

Image

Image

Image

it was kind of crowded during dinner time. i guess the location and the ambience of the restaurants attracts quite a lot of people there just for a nice seafood dinner. but our dinner at OCEAN Bay was not a good experience i must say. to keep it short, they forgot our order, i have to asked three times for a glass of water before it actually appears in front of me, and the food was not tasty at all. i don’t know if it is just our luck,or perhaps they are just too busy but i definitely will not go back there again.

Image

other than the unpleasant dining experience, the night was beautiful.

A glass of wine to end the beautiful day. 🙂

Continuation of my hkg trip…

Image

it was my first time to “Yuen Long District” in Hong Kong. it seems like a nice area to explore if i have got more time in hkg. my friend brought me to this stretch of outdoor food joint to have our dinner and the place is packed with people!

Image

we settled down randomly at one of the eating place and omg the food is awesome!

Image

this chicken dish called ” Kou shui ji” is really good! i am not really a meat eater but totally love it!

Image

then the next day we went back to the same area ( seafood restaurant) for dim sum! yes! more food!

Image

Image

Nice! i had my fav custard bun!!! 🙂

Image

the food is so good!  thus it explained why i looked so unglam in this pic! wahahaa

Image

i miss eating in hong kong already. 😦 next post will be on the official opening of Ogopogo cafe in singapore!! 🙂 and i am just back from a short trip to LAS VEGAS! hehe.. hopefully i will stop slacking and edit all these photos soon!

YES! i was in hong kong again last week. hehe. i think i put on some weight during the trip cause i have been eating and eating! omg. because everything in hong kong is just so tasty! 🙂 everyday i can jus eat the wanton noodles and never get sick of it. ( wanton noodles is just so bloody good in hkg) but anyhow, this post is not about wanton noodles.

it is about my first time watching how liquid nitrogen ice cream is made and also the first time eating it! Erm.. i don’t think there is any liquid nitrogen ice cream selling in singapore right?not that i know of or is it because i am “sua ku”??? wahaha.

My friend brought me to the one at brown st ( near causeway bay). The place is called Lab made or Liquid Nitrogen Ice cream ( their print poster put LabMade but the signage put Liquid Nitrogen Ice cream).

Image

the place was crowded with curious people watching how the ice cream is made.cause the staff will only prepare the ice cream after the customer placed their order. SO YES THEY MAKE THE ICE CREAM INSTANTLY! The process of making is to turn liquid custard into putty-textured frozen ice cream within seconds! this is possible because of the addition of liquid nitrogen!

Image

Image

i love the area where the ice cream shop is located. Quiet, peaceful and there are a few nice cafes and concept shops around. if you have the time to spare in hong kong, can take a walk at school st and brown st. there are some interesting stuff to see ( but come with a pricey price tag! haha).

Image

Image

Image

i had the Japanese Matcha. Erm, it tasted really just like any other normal ice cream! wahaha.. and it melts really fast! so i guess what really attracts people to eat the ice-cream  was probably just due to their unique way of making the ice cream. Like something new to people to be able to watch the process of making the ice cream instantly.

The place is really small, not much seats around so we got to stand while eating! other than that, we have got no complaint about the whole experience. 🙂

Image

Like i said, there are a few nice shops around.this particular one called Volume one is somewhat different from the rest.  i really like how the owners did to the interior of the place and one of them is really friendly and kind enough to explain how they come about having the concept and start up the place.

Image

the first moment when we entered the shop, we thought it was a cafe , because the first thing we saw were cakes, bread etc. but as we walked further into the shop, we saw….

Image

clothes! accessories! Furnitures! and i swear the stuff in there are not cheap. Mostly are imported from places like UK, Europe. i saw this ring that i really like, it cost like almost $1000. wtf. gave up the idea of owning it. haha. now i am just trying to save up for my 2-3 weeks trip to japan next year. hopefully i am able to go! hehe

Image

cool yeah? ( Pardon the bad quality of the pictures. all taken using my iPhone)

that’s all! Have a great weekend everyone!
