haha… since we are staying in the same area where the famous wanton noodles place i always frequent last time, i just have to buy and let them try. even though now i don’t take meat anymore and obviously i can’t enjoy the tasty wanton anymore, i just have to let them taste how good it is…. cannot find any wanton noodles in singapore as good as this !!!

after doing much research on how to get to the victoria peak ourselves,it is pretty troublesome for such a big group to get there ourselves. i know i just have to book a private tour and it turned out pretty good! we have a spacious mini bus to ourselves, and basically we can go anywhere we want within the time frame.

Image

we took a one way peak tram up to the top, highly recommended!! the ride was pretty interesting and i think it is worth trying it out if u are in hong kong.

Image

Image

Image

the view is beautiful!!

Image

can u see how steep the slope is???? quite scary!!!

Image

ah.. finally! we reached the peak!

Image

we visited the madam tussauds too!

Image

Image

Image

the trip was damn tiring. but i guess the time spent with the family is worth it. 🙂

The private tour agency we booked : ( Paid around USD$800 for half day tour, inclusive of tips)

after 2 nights in the disneyland hotel, we were finally out of there and make our way to kowloon area.

ImageImage

we stayed at sheraton hotel, the rooms were huge and with the harbor view. it was great. ( of course the rooms aren’t cheap!)

Image

Image

we had this half day city tour provided by the tour agency, which i was quite surprised that they were able to cover a few places(victoria peak, aberdeen, boat ride, visit some temple and had lunch!!) within the span of 4hrs.amazing.

well! for dinner, i decided to bring them to lamma island for seafood. we found out that rainbow restaurant provides free ferry shuttle to and fro lamma island and the hotel staff was kind enough to help us with the booking and stuff, we just have to walk to the ferry terminal and enjoy the ride. it took almost 40mins ferry ride to reach the island, i must say the food was really good. it is up to u to decide if it is worth 40mins travel time to have a good seafood meal.( the price is not v cheap. we paid almost 400 sgd for 9 of us but of course if it is to compare to the seafood prices in singapore, it is consider much cheaper there based on the kind of food we ordered) personally, i don’t mind traveling there to have a good meal. 🙂

Last month i had a holiday trip to hkg with the family. i must say traveling with old folks and young kids together is very very challenging. lol. i was so so tired at the end of the trip but i guess time spent with the family is kinda worth it.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

For the first two night, we stayed at disneyland hotel. We were not impressed with the service at the hotel and the food prices in the hotel were ridiculous ( the hotel pretty much was trying to “kill” the hotel guests with the food prices cause there are just nothing else around the hotel for us to eat..) it cost almost 100 bucks for an adult buffet dinner. just imagine us spending almost 900bucks just for a dinner alone?it is just crazy. so we headed out of the area for meals sometime. i don’t recommend staying at disneyland hotel, just visit the park for a day is good enough.

Image

Image

Image

took a disney train out.

the next day at the park!

Baby clara did a make over!! LOL. the prices was crazy too(almost 400 bucks). oh well, since we are here. so might as well! And she love the dress so much that she didn’t want to remove them at the end of the day.

Image

Image

i have a lot more photos coming up! 🙂 i missed hong kong.

this was my second time to Bistro soori, the first time i was there, i had their brunch set, and i love the food there ( the price was reasonable then at $38 per set). So, i decided to bring the girls there for the celebration but the dinner menu was so expensive that i kinda feel guilty for choosing that place. lol.( because it was our treat(lynette and me) for shirley. One main cost around $30-40, so u do the calculations. Howeverrrrr, the food did not disappoint us!!

i love zakka shop. period. haha. so i am always very excited about going to a zakka cafe where they sell many small little things that girls will normally fancy. Spoonful is another zakka cafe we visited when we were in bangkok. it is located on the second floor in a building/ mall called The Portico.

Their menus are very limited, it is just the kind of cafe for people to order some coffee/teas and read a book, cause the ambiance is fantastic.

Image

Image

Image

Image

we ordered some scones, cause that is what they are famous for. and we love it too. ( But to note: things are rather pricey in there. even the scones and drinks)Image

The third cafe on the list was the Library cafe, head so much about their signature waffles that we just need to pay them a visit to try it out… 🙂

Image

the cafe was a little hard to find and easy to miss, cause their signage wasn’t very BIG. LOL.

Image

Image

Image

Image

oh well, the boy loves the waffles (he ate most of it ) and i myself find it quite nice too.  if we haven’t been eating the whole day, i would like eaten more of the waffles. hahaa. However, i find the matcha latte is a little way too sweet for me, the boy didn’t like his iced coffee either. so maybe, just head there for the WAFFLES!! is good enough….. 🙂

the second cafe we decided to head to is called Parden cafe & zakka, the cafe’s owners are real japanese and i really loveee the stuff in there. so glad that we managed to find the place and it definitely worth the effort to travel all the way there. ( we learned our lesson = no more walking!! this time round, we took a cab there…LOL)

the first bangkok cafe we decided to head to is called Gastro 1/6. as i was searching for some nice cafe to visit during our stay in bkk, this cafe’s reviews keep popping up in the web saying that it is a nice bunch place to go.

we wanted to take a taxi in the first place, but the taxi drivers that we have approached keep quoting us ridiculous prices, so we gave up looking for taxi and took the BTS instead.

it was only 10-15 mins train ride to phrom Phong station, very fast.Based on our experience, we advised that once u reached this station, hire a taxi to where the cafe is located at. Because, we walked damn far from the BTS to the cafe, almost 20-30mins walk!!!!

Image

Image

Image

Image

finally we found the place after much walking, but we both find the cafe worth the effort looking for it under the hot weather. (because i really like their deco and french toast)

Image

His big breakfast.

Image

the french toast is so amazing!! it is a “must order” if u r paying the cafe a visit.. the fruits are so fresh cause they only cut them when we placed the order. it took quite a while before all the food and drinks are served even though there is no one else in the cafe, so if u are heading there during the weekend, the wait might be quite long if there are a lot of people. we are quite lucky that when we were there during the weekday so there isn’t any people in the cafe.

LOL… finally exams are over, and i have a short break before my school starts again in mid june… and that will be my last 2 modules!! LIKE FINALLY, it has been 3 fugging years, juggling between work and school and now my new business idea.

oh well, i still managed to squeeze in a 4 days 3 night bkk trip with the boy.i hope to do a long holiday in august before i finally call quit to flying! (It has been 7 years !! in the same job!!) Time for a change of environment i guess… wish me luck.

Here are some updates, on the trip..

Image

unfortunately, my flight out to bangkok was delayed for more than 2 hours~~ and the airline gave us some sort of compensation through the distribution of tibits box and they provided some hot refreshments as well.

but what we really wanted was to get there soon, so at least we still have half a day more, however by the time we reached our hotel it was already 6plus in the evening due to traffic jam..Sucks!

Image

Happy us. our first holiday together after MUCH planning. 🙂Image

i picked a new small boutique hotel near pratunam night market. i love how they designed the whole space, and the location is quite good as well! it is only a 5 minutes walk to the pratunam night market, 10mins walk to platinum mall, 10-15mins walk to bts station. there are a few massage joints around the hotel which are priced reasonably at 200 baht  per hr for foot massage.

However, the area is a little quiet and dark during the night, so have to be careful when walking home in the middle of the night. but we never encounter any incidents during our stay there.

Image

we were greeted by this, the moment we arrived. nice!

Image

the hotel lobby.

Image

The staffs are quite friendly and helped us with our enquiries quite promptly.

Image

the design of the room was kept simple and it was clean. oh well, we only paid SGD$62 a night for the room, so we have no complaints. but there isn’t any nice view outside. LOL. if u are looking for nice view hotel, this isn’t the one for u. but this is a good choice for a budget hotel at a good location.

Image

Image

after a short rest, and it was getting late so we head nearby to the pratunam night market to grab our dinner.

Image

oh man, i missed their street food… phad thai, tom yum soup, grilled seafood. yummmsss..

Image

The tom yum soup stall.

ImageImage

Image

that all for this post.but more updates are coming on the cafes we visited in bangkok on the the next few entries. the cafe hunts were the highlight of the trip, glad we did that cause we had so much fun traveling around and eating non stop. miss bangkok already…. 🙂
